like a good neighbor

Daddy left on a plane early yesterday morning and as the boys and I were driving back from the airport we noticed that our neighbors were starting to change out their yard decor. We saw tubs and tubs of things in their carport and knew what was about to go down. Y'all (I can say that since we live in the south now) Y'ALL, this sweet brick ranch house is on a pretty major road in town, we pass it everyday as our neighborhood entrance is just a little bit further down the road. I imagine it belongs to a sweet older couple who has been in that home for 50 years. Their view and season in life might have changed but they keep on keeping' on. Their front yard is immaculate. Bushes always pruned. Yard always kept. but it goes even further... There are seasons of decor. The flag, fun front door wreath wreath, lawn mercury balls, rocking chair pillows, bunting, what have you, all have a coordinated theme and are changed out monthly! I get exhausted just thinking about it.

The RAOK yesterday was to tell them that it doesn't go unnoticed. I jotted down a quick note and we loaded up the car to go drop it in their mailbox. I imagine the sweet older man having to put on bifocals to read it and hopefully he will smile.
